Primary School Teacher and Social Studies

We are looking for a Primary School Teacher and Social Studies for an international school in Beijing. This is position is available from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year in February 2026. 

About the school

This is a K-12 school located in Haidian, and consists of an international school for foreigners' children, a kindergarten, and a bilingual school. The campus covers a built-up area of 162,000 square meters and includes a 400-meter track, professional theater, multi-purpose hall, kindergarten, student dormitory buildings, faculty dormitory buildings, several sports facilities and libraries.

Job responsibilities

• Teach the subject of Social Studies to secondary school students utilizing the US Common Core framework and ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experience
• Be the bridge and link between school and parents; Establish a good relationship with parents, maintain full and positive communication, and seek parent cooperation. Prepare and hold parent conferences, and educate students together with parents;
• Regulate the daily behavior of students; set homeroom norms and follow the student handbook; support the spirit of collaboration; understand and effectively guide each student’s growth;
• Create a unique homeroom culture according to your own situation, provide for a variety of homeroom activities, and ensure they are well implemented;
• Be responsible for helping maintain a healthy school environment, be an advocate for your students, and celebrate their achievements at each stage;
• Help students improve their academic grades by maintaining good communication with their teachers and providing academic guidance; communicate with parents in a timely manner and provide help to students who are struggling;
• Be responsible for the homeroom morning meetings and extended homeroom;
• Handle properly conflicts and accidents between students, and give prompt responses; report major problems to the school in a timely manner;
• Participate actively in school field trips and cooperate with colleagues on the arrangements of trip schedules, the safety & security of the students, and the follow up of trip assignments & tasks;
• Communicate actively with other teachers to have a good understanding of students’ emotional development and provide guidance as needed;
• Work closely and cooperatively with other teachers to build up a good school atmosphere; actively take part in or help organize various grade level, divisional, or all-school activities;

Job requirements

• Bachelor degree or above in the related subject
• Teaching certificate
• Two or more years teaching experience in the subject
• Excellent communications skills

Salary and benefits

• Monthly salary 29,000 to 35,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Monthly housing allowance of 7,000 RMB
• Relocation Allowance: From outside China 10,000 RMB, plus 5,000 per eligible dependent
• Flight/Train Ticket: Single trip air/train ticket to Beijing for staff and eligible dependents at the beginning of the contract
• Home -school flight benefit: Up to 10,000 RMB for single staff; Up to 20,000 RMB for staff with eligible dependents.
• Supplemental Medical Insurance: Health insurance: up to 20,000 RMB for staff. Up to2 eligible dependents
• Educational Benefits for Children: All children of an international teacher can have100% remission on tuition fees.
• Sick leave with pay: 5 days, can be compensated at 100% according to one's salary standard if not used at the end of each school year
• PD Fund: Teaching staff -10,000 RMB/year or roll over up to 20,000 RMB over 2 years.
