Head of Social Science and Humanities

We are looking for a Head of Social Science and Humanities for an international school in Chengdu. This leadership role starting from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year in August 2026.

Job details

• Lead the Social Science & Humanities department across secondary (IGCSE/A Level or equivalent).
• Teach across the department as needed, with the ability to teach Business and/or Accounting and/or Economics and/or History.
• Drive curriculum planning, consistency, and quality assurance across subject areas.
• Support and develop teachers through coaching, collaborative planning, and resource sharing.
• Plan engaging lessons, set and mark assessments, and write reports to a high standard.
• Monitor student progress, set improvement targets, and ensure strong learning outcomes.
• Communicate clearly with students and parents, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Create a safe, supportive, and academically ambitious learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant subject (e.g., Economics, Business, Accounting, History, Politics, or related fields).
• At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience (leadership or coordination experience preferred).
• Strong experience with IGCSE and A Level (or equivalent international curricula).
• Ability to teach at least two of the following: Business / Accounting / Economics / History (flexible based on timetable needs).
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Salary and benefits

• Monthly salary of 22,000 to 30,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
• Monthly management allowance of 5,000 RMB
• Monthly housing allowance of 3,500 RMB
