Head of EAL

We are looking for a Head of EAL for an International School based in Beijing. This is a full-time position starting from August 2023.

Job details

• Working in collaboration with Early Years and the Junior School
• Contribute to the alignment of language acquisition pathways to enable the creation of effective and responsive support
• During the admissions process the Head of EAL meets with all students and carries out the appropriate testing to inform decision making regarding placement liaising effectively with staff
• Ensures students receive the support they need and monitor and track individual progress using baseline data
• Adjusting support as appropriate in collaboration with teachers, pastoral leaders and parents
• Supports departments in resource development and teaching strategies
• Provides professional development for teachers to build a differentiation tool-kit of strategies to specifically enhance language acquisition

Requirements

• At least two years post qualification experience
• Bachelor or above degree is required 
• PGCE or QTS, Teaching License from non-UK countries are required 

Salary and benefits

• Monthly Salary of 28,000 RMB above 
• Housing allowance of 4,000 to 9,000 RMB
• Public holidays
• Fully paid Summer and Winter holidays
• Provide relocation fee
