We are looking for a Secondary Director of Teaching and
Learning for an international school based in Beijing. This is a full-time
position starting from August 2023 academic year.
About the school
Located in Beijing's Chaoyang district, this bilingual
school follows the combination of local curricula and the National Curriculum
for England as their guides for excellence. Furthermore, the school utilizes a
customized dual immersion program for students of the kindergarten, Primary,
Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary divisions, designed to meet their
individual needs.
About the role
The Secondary Director of Teaching and Learning is a senior
member of the school’s academic leadership team and the primary academic
supervisor in the Secondary, overseeing program coordination, curriculum
development and alignment and classroom instruction. The main role is to
monitor, evaluate and develop the program, curriculum, teaching, reporting and
recording procedures and the assessment practices of the school. This
individual should have deep expertise in classroom-based best practices and
also liaise between the School, local educational authorities and external
educational organizations, ensuring both programme compliance and integrity as
well as a clear understanding of programme principles, practices and processes
throughout the school community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Current teaching certification
- At least 3 years of teaching experience at the secondary
level
- Expertise in curriculum development
- Experience as an instructional coach
- Experience in teacher performance evaluation
- Knowledge of and experience with the IB DP preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with Cambridge (IGCSE and
A-level) curriculum preferred
Salary and benefits
- Monthly salary of 30,000 to 40,000 RMB before tax
