Art Teacher

We are currently hiring an Art Teacher for a middle school in Chengdu (International Department) to teach the subject of Art to students from grade 10 to 12 for the forthcoming academic year.

Job Description

• Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about Visual Arts
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities
• Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment
• Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tool, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records
• Evaluate students’ performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports
• Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and community
• Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school and/or in self-selected professional growth activities
• Communicate with parents and school administrators on student progress
• Participate in curriculum and other development programs
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by Administration

Requirements

• 2 years’ work experience as an Art Teacher
• Bachelor’s degree in Visual/Fine Arts
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Arts is preferred
• Knowledge of curriculum and assessment with the ability to design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage with students, staff, and parents
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
• Willingness to grow professionally with the school

Salary & Benefits

• Salary from 18,000 to 22,000 RMB before tax per month based on teaching experience and academic background.
